NEWBERRY AREA SNOWMOBILE REPORT
---------------------------------------

February 5, 2010 7:30 a.m.

Please be careful around curves. The weather has cooled down and there is some ice around the curves. We have had alot of snow north over the wekend and the trails are great. Come up and have some fun!!!

Trail #9 north is in great condition. The base is 8-10 inches and riders are reporting very good riding conditions, We have had more snow in this area and trails are great for riding. Be carful on the straight away between M-123 and 3 mile staging area, mogals form there quick depending on how many sleds go over it. The groomer will be out between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00A.M.

Trail #45 North is in great shape with a 8-10 inch base, but, there are 2 logging areas on it. One north, and one south, of the Skyline Trail Head. It is plowed and can be rough at times. The trail from Co. Rd. 500 to the Falls is in good shape. The groomer will out between 4:00 P.M. and 1:00 A.M.

Trail #9 south to Hemlock Ridge road (trail 2) has a 0 -4 inch base and is in good condition.

Trail #2 From the Naubinway split to Rexton is in fair condition with up to a 3 inch base.

Trail #473 has about 7 miles of plowed road from Rexton south to Epoufette due to logging in the area. Please watch for trucks and deer in the area. The base is marginal to 3 inches and in fair condition.

Trail #473 Rexton to Trout lake is in fair condition with up to a 3 inch base.

Town trails are open and in good condition with a 4-6 inch base.

MEETING TIME

THE NEXT REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING IS TUESDAY FEB. 16, 2010, AT THE GOOMER BARN LOCATED AT 9017 M-123, GUESTS ARE WELCOME.

*Please remember our groomers are out daily to keep the trails in the best shape they can be for your riding pleasure. Please keep a safe distance from the groomer if possible.

We have updated the Newberry Village trail map. There are just a couple of changes from the last map. Look for our upcoming article in the February issue of the Michigan Snowmobiler Magazine.

THINK MORE SNOW!!!

Rode thru Newberry Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Town is ok but its town try to stay away if you can. Put 600 miles on sleds riding between Newberry, Grand Marais and Brimley last week and it was all in Good shape not great but very good. A couple inches of snow could make a big difference. Heading up to St. Ignace with the wife and kids Thurs til Sun to do a family ride.
